NODA REVIEW
This was a superbly funny, excellently performed piece of theatre. The ten strong cast were so well directed by Adrian Beer that it was one long laugh from beginning to end. With farce everything hangs on the cast’s ability with timing and speed of delivery. This was managed with near professional standards. Tony Henry gave a performance as Richard Willey, MP trying to have an affair with a Labour secretary. Lucinda Leeming was cast as the secretary, Janet Worthington – no inhibitions here! First-timer Ken Brindley gave a wonderfully funny performance as George Pigden and Geoff Moss was an accomplished “body”. Judith Armstrong as Gladys, the nurse, and Gael Edwards as Pamela Willey both gave capable performances. The hotel manager, Jim White, the maid, Joyce Clarkson and Ronnie Worthington – Stephen Blundell – not a weak link amongst them. Everyone was so superb but one piece of characterisation stands out that of Alan Pearson as the waiter. Congratulations again to Adrian Beer and the cast for one of the funniest night’s entertainment I have had for a while.
