NODA REVIEW This was a wonderful production which did not disappoint in any department: we had a superb set which the director used intelligently, the orchestra under the baton of James Eccleshare was extremely good and an extremely talented cast, The only scene which I would have changed was Herod’s Palace. But that is being very picky! Judas was played by Jamie Taylor whom I had not seen before but who did well.
Jesus was played by another new face to me, that of Daniel Whitehead, and what a smashing job he did; this was a superb performance for one so young. Vicky Forrester was Mary. This young lady has the loveliest of voices and can act as well – a performance to remember! Jonathan Pryor and Sam Crowder had one or two parts in this show and did them well. Jonathan’s Peter was fine but the trio when he joined up with Craig Nixon who played Caiaphas and Sean Hargreaves who was Annas was excellent. Sam’s high point was when he took over the role of Pilate which he sung superbly well. Andrew Duckworth was Herod and was backed with a good sounding chorus. The end product was a most enjoyable evening. It is so important for the future that our talented youngsters get a chance to shine.
