NODA REVIEW This was an enjoyable production with relatively popular music but fitted the pantomime very well. As I have said many times, I am not a lover of taped music but it was acceptable in this case. Apart from water pistols used on the audience, another of my pet hates is the use of “shiny tights” instead of fishnets which from any distance are an enhancement – modern tights do not look right. The show opened with yet another good “Baddie” performance by Kath Ashworth, this time as Tempus, and very good she was too.The elements of Good were in the hands of Anne O’Shea as the Fairy and little Katie Allen as Cupid. The Baron, played by Sean O’Driscoll, could have been made up to look older. He needed a wig and a hat as he looked too young and thus not right. His lovely daughters were played by Vincent Taylor as Daisy in whom I was disappointed, but what a super performance by Michael Wignall as Daffodil. Buttons was in the hands of Kieron Garlick who had some good moments. The broker’s men, Kash and Karry, were played by Robin Armstrong and there was a nice cameo by Leanne Downes. We did have three extremely good performances by three young ladies: Dandini, played by Jennifer Atherton and Prince Charming, by Nicola Fishwick, both looked right and sang superbly. Add to these Cinderella herself played by the very talented Sophie Elliot. The set was good, the costumes looked great and all were enhanced by chorus and dancers. My congratulations to you all.
