NODA REVIEW A full house heralded a first-class evening of fun, song and laughter with this wonderful production by Wendy Salvage, directed by Vincent Taylor. All the well-known characters were there plus a few extra.
Tony Henry was a truly sinister Abanazar, two very ineffectual policemen, Bamboo and Typhoo, played by Adrian Beeby and Leanne Downes. Jane Norris as Aladdin sang and acted with gusto. Brian Clarke excelled as Widow Twankey and Graham Cohen as Wishee-Washee had complete control over quite an unruly scout troop. The ad-libs came thick and fast from these two seasoned performers. The Emperor & Empress of China, Ken Brindley & Kathleen Ashworth were suitable imperious, especially the Empress!! Kathryn Pilkington was a lovely Princess Saywen and Robin Henry was an excellent Genie of the Lamp and I can say, with authority that Elvis is alive and living in Adlington! Minor principals, chorus and dancers were all good and costumes were bright and colourful. The audience participation song was a hard tongue-twister and was greeted with much laughter from the audience. An hilarious evening.
